I am a documentation design expert, MadCap Flare expert for single-source publishing of manuals, brochures, documentation and websites. I create and publish web content, using the WordPress platform (and others as required). I use Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to improve the Google search ranking (and other search engines) of your website. I can provide digital marketing strategy advice and business planning. I am an LCA practitioner (Life Cycle Assessment), and can perform complex data analysis and presentation for different types of customers.

My most recent role (up to August 2020) was to produce the web-based and PDF manuals for the BREEAM, HQM (Home Quality Mark), CEEQUAL, and other related schemes for the Building Research Establishment, based in Watford, UK. These manuals are used in the construction industry for sustainable design of buildings and infrastructure. I use the single-sourcing authoring software MadCap Flare, to simultaneously create documents formatted for printing, and for online publication with dynamic (clickable) content.

At the same time as the above role, I was responsible for the Web Authoring and Governance for the business-wide group of websites, and the consistency of content design, colour schemes, imagery, and readability. I also provided internal training and guidance for others in the business to work using consistent design and high quality. I am proficient in using WordPress (which this site also uses), which is a versatile and customisable platform for both business and personal use.

In my previous role for the same company, I performed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for construction products, and produced and verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) to the BRE methodology, and to the EN 15804 European standard. For the LCA work, I primarily used the SimaPro software, and sometimes GaBi, in addition to my own custom database systems.

I have been working with websites, images and documents for pleasure for most of my life, and the LCA work I have been doing for 12 years.

I am an advanced user of the usual Microsoft Applications, such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook, and OneDrive. I have used both Access databases and Excel to perform complex calculations and to present data. I have also created Word templates for certificates and data presentation, which link directly to either a database or spreadsheet for fast creation of accurate documents – with no human error potential.
